Presenting the Class of 2023...

On Tuesday, Alexia and her classmates from the Kindergarten Academy presented their End of Year Program, which highlighted all of the songs and learning that were a part of this year of school.
Scott, Megan and I were all able to go and Alexia was thrilled!  She loved singing and performing all of the songs!  Her smile in most of these pictures pretty much sums up her entire Kindergarten experience.  What a fantastic year of school she had!!

Alexia absolutely LOVED her teacher, Mrs. Deiter.  In fact, today was her last day of Kindergarten and she told me that when she got on the bus to come home, she started crying because of how much she was going to miss Mrs. Deiter.  My heart broke for her...and yet, I am so thankful she had such a wonderful experience that she would be so emotional about it coming to an end.

Alexia's friendships were another HUGE part of her Kindergarten experience.  Here she is posing with Leeanne for one last Kindergarten picture together.  These girls have known each other for a couple of years because they use to attend preschool together, but they certainly developed a very special bond this year!  They are already planning some summer sleepovers together :)

Oh, and the final way that Alexia plans to keep her Kindergarten Memories alive is through begging me (from the stage in front of all of the other parents mind you...) to agree that we could adopt a couple of their classroom fish...when I responded, "We'll talk about it after the program, honey" she knew that did not mean "yes, of course we can" so she continued to plead with me and began to get teary-eyed just as the program was to begin.  So what's a mom to do in this situation???  Respond with, "Sure, we can adopt some of the fish...that will be great."  So, once Alexia made sure Mrs. Deiter knew we would take 2 of the fish...the show could go on!!

And so...two goldfish and $80 later...here are the two new members of our family...

The fish are both on the far right side of the tank...the bright orange one is Alexia's, whom she has descriptively named "Fast Swimmer" and Megan's fish is the smaller yellow/orange one whom she has named "Sammy."  They seem to have adjusted well to their new surroundings and the girls absolutely LOVE them.  Maybe this will help them lay off the guilt trips they give me over wanting a dog...lol.
