As far as Slumber Parties go...I'd definitely label this one a huge success!!!
As Guest's arrived, they were greeted with this sign, which I stole from the Student Ministry at church, who had used it the night before for an event they had..it was perfect :)
The Guest List...in the order they arrived:

Alayna |

Leeann |

Raena |

Ava |

Hope |

Audrey |
Alexia was expecting one more friend to come, however she got sick on the day of the party, but don't worry, we certainly had our hands full with these 7 girls.
The party kicked off with some pizza, chips and veggies.

Gee, do you think this is a sign of some potential sillyness on it's way??? |
Instead of birthday cake or cupcakes, I suggested to Alexia that we could do birthday dohnuts instead (in light of it being a slumber party and all)...she loved this idea, as did her guests.
Then, it was time for gifts (we wanted to get all of the "traditional birthday activities" finished first so the girls could then be "let loose" to just have some fun!)
As always, Alexia was blessed with many wonderful gifts...friendship bracelet and other jewelry kits, things for the pool (including a beautiful bathing suit), outdoor play gifts, girlie stuff like lotions and perfume, a journal, glo bracelt kit and even some 3D sidewalk chalk.
As is our tradition, I had Alexia take a picture with each friend after she opened her gifts from them. She has really been enjoying and appreciating each gift this year and I was very proud of her for how thankful she was for each one.
After gifts, the girls wanted to go downstairs for trampoline jumping, dress up and other random play. Alexia also wanted to do her dance for all of them, and they were all very gracious in taking some time out from their play to watch her and encourage her.
After some unstructured play time, we headed back upstairs to make their own "Night-Shirts". They all LOVED this activity and each one of them signed everyone else's shirt. They even asked me to sign their shirts, which was very cool :)

Not sure what Alexia was talking about here, but she sure was into this discussion! |
Once everyone was satisfied with their night shirt creation...we headed outside for some Silly String Fun...Yep, you read correctly...I bought them each a can of Silly String and they had a blast with it, some of them in their princess dresses and all :)
After we got the silly string cleaned up, the girls went back downstairs for a little bit, while Scott prepared the fire pit and got all of the fix'ins together for Smores! As they went out, I gave them each a Glo Wand, which also provided for a lot of fun as it got dark outside :)

This picture cracks me up...I LOVE IT!!! |
Now that they had themselves all "sugared-up", it was time to play some "freeze dance." Alexia got out her Karaoke Machine, they turned the front porch into a dance floor and they went to town!

Alexia, pretending her glo wand was a guitar...gotta love it! |
|
What a threesome!! (Please note that these were the remaining 3 who were still awake at Midnight)!! |
Well, after the other 4 were tired out from all the birthday party fun, we decided to get jammies on and get ready for the Barbie movie (which was supposed to be the key factor in getting them ALL to fall asleep) :)
Well, after some popcorn and the movie ending around 11:30...it was time for "lights out." At that point, one little girl decided she wanted to go home (which we knew might happen), so I ran her home and got back to the house, with the expectation that the rest of them would be fast asleep! As I walked in, Scott informed me that he had already been downstairs 3 times to issue warnings to 3 of them who apparently had gotten a bad case of the giggles! Within another 15 minutes or so, Alexia, Hope and Leeann ended up separating themselves and they all then quickly fell asleep.
Before heading to bed myself, I prepared breakfast for the morning...:) Was this not a brilliant idea, or what?? The girls thought it was fun to have so many different choices!
With breakfast behind us, it was now time to begin to gather everything up (and pray that they were all leaving with what they came), to play a little bit more downstairs and then outside and to pack them each up with their party treasures and goodie bags!
While they were playing and waiting outside to be picked up, I was making sure everything was in piles and ready to go!

Now, who do you think was ready for 10 AM to arrive??? |
Yes, it was Mommy, but not because I didn't have a great time hosting this sleepover for the girls....it simply comes down to the fact that I'm not as young as I used to be...and it definitely took me a few days to "recover" from all the sleepover fun :) But, it truly was worth it and I am very thankful that Alexia has the kind of friends who I would gladly welcome into our home at any time for sleepovers and playdates!! What an incredible group of girls!
