Fun Times at Grandma & Papa's -- Take 2

WOW...It has been one super fun, crazy month....thus the reason I have not had a chance to post any pictures recently! 

We have been enjoying every second of the girls' summer vacation...we've made two trips to Erie in the past month...here are the highlights from our first trip.

For our trip at the end of June, the girls and I spent 8 days at Grandma & Papa's house...we were so busy the entire time...I don't know how this "almost 40 year old" Mama kept up with them...I guess I push myself to keep up so I can try and stay "young" :)

The day we arrived, the girls and I gave Papa his Father's Day edible card :)  He loved it and seemed to enjoy eating it throughout the week.  The girls kept checking the card each day to see which candy had been eaten...it was cute!

After a long day of travel, the girls were pretty wiped out, but we did make a quick trip that first evening down to Freeport Beach so that they could see the lake!  They played with their buckets in the sand and water for a bit and then enjoyed the playground there.  It's so strange to see my girls playing on the same playground that I spent hundreds of hours playing on when I was a child :)

Saturday, we went to the Erie Zoo.  The girls are not into animals as much as many other kids are, but they enjoyed the Kids Play Area there, and of course, the train ride, too!

 

I think I only managed to get one picture of them with any zoo animals...at least it was my favorite...the Giraffe!

Someone was a little SLEEPY after our day at the Zoo!!

Sunday, we spent some time swimming at the neighbor's pool and then later met Aunt Brenda and her girls down at Freeport Beach to hang out and watch the sunset...Charlie and Mackenna kept the girls very busy so Brenda and I had an opportunity to talk and catch up a bit.  It was great!!

Monday, we went to SPLASH LAGOON!!!  The girls had a blast at this place :)  And, Megan learned to swim!  Sorry, no pics as I didn't want to risk taking my camera in and it getting wet or stolen!

Tuesday, we took a break from so much running and we spent it hanging out at the house, playing games inside and outside and going down to the creek...the girls really enjoyed the creek this year!

For our adventures down to the creek, Papa hooked up a rope so the girls could easily get up and down the hill...He's such a good Papa!!

On Wednesday, we went and spent the day at Presque Isle!! The girls really enjoyed their times at the Beach...Scott says it is not a "beach" because there is no ocean...but the girls didn't seem to care...they had a blast!

After our day at the beach, we headed over to Uncle Bob & Aunt Wanda's house for a short visit :)  Unfortunately, Aunt Wanda was feeling well enough to visit this time, but the girls sure did have a great time playing with Uncle Bob and all of his "toys."

Thursday, it was Waldameer Park...the girls' FAVORITE amusement park.  This year was extra special because we got to hang out there with Aunt Brenda, Charlie and Mackenna :)

And on Friday...we headed back home.  At some point, I captured the girls giving each other a "High Five" in the car....I think this sums up our week...it was fantastic !!!

Thank you Grandma & Papa for an unforgettable summer vacation visit...we love coming to your house...it's SIMPLY THE BEST!!!!!
