Christmas Preparations Have Begun....

So, it's finally December and the Christmas Preparations have begun in our home.
It all began yesterday when I had the chance to get together with a few good friends to make homemade Christmas wreathes...What a fun experience!  It's the second year that we've gotten together and I hope we make it an annual tradition :) Talks are in the works for making this an "overnighter" next year where we would stay up all night making them so that we'd have time to make some as gifts for others :)

After leaving with my Christmas wreath, I headed to our local fire department to pick up our Christmas Tree.  Despite my efforts to make this a family event, it seems to go more smoothly if I just go and pick it out myself (someone in my life seems to think I take too long to make a decision when picking out a tree...can you imagine that?)...lol.  So, I picked out a tree in record time (11.5 minutes to be exact) and today we began the decorating process.

After breaking the first ornament she picked up, we decided that Daddy needed to help Megan with her tree decorating.

Alexia, of course, then wanted to be picked up to reach up high. Too bad Mommy couldn't help her reach much higher than she probably could have done on her own :)

Megan enjoyed decorating the tree for about 10 minutes and then Daddy began the tickling fest with her...much more fun from Megan and Daddy's perspective!
Alexia hung in there much longer and was excited to have the rest of the ornaments to herself to put on the tree.

While there are a few slight "adjustments" that will need to be made to the tree before all is said and done, it was an enjoyable experience.  The girls were proud of their decorating, they danced around in circles and sang Jingle Bells, they talked about how they couldn't wait to put the gift they got for each other under the tree...they truly reflected the real meaning of Christmas!  I am such a proud Mama :)
