We had a super busy day today!
It began by attending the "Moving Up" Ceremony at the ECC.
The girls wanted to get all dressed up for the day, so here are my little darlings, posing in their dresses just before going into the ECC.
For Alexia, this was a bittersweet day as it was her last official day/program at the ECC.
Mrs. Gardner acknowledged her and the other "Dinosaurs" who will be leaving the ECC program and heading to 1st Grade.
After the ceremony, Alexia went around to all the teachers giving hugs and saying "Thank You" to them (I must say that this was emotional for me...especially because I didn't even prompt her to do so)...she just really wanted them to know how much she appreciated them! Way to go, Alexia.
And, of course, she had to take a moment to pose with her ECC BFF, Hope, and a few of the other girls with whom she'll be heading to 1st Grade.
Megan also officially graduated from the "Bunny" Class...and will be moving up to Lamb Class with Mrs. C and Mrs. Lungari. She is thrilled about this move to a new class and I'm confident she will flourish there.
After the ceremony at the ECC...we grabbed a quick lunch at McDonalds with Ms. Krystal and Lorelei...before heading to Shepherdstown Elementary for Alexia's classroom visitation.
Alexia was somewhat nervous about going to her new school, but she was able to see her classroom, meet her teacher, Mrs. Tamosaitis....and, of course, make some new friends!
When Alexia first went into the classroom, she was told by Mrs. Tamosaitis to go and find the pencil box with her name on it and that she could take it to whatever desk she wanted...she then was given the task of decorating her name tag for her desk.
After taking care of that task, her focus turned 100% to making friends with the girl who will be sitting next to her, Payton.
Alexia has a few other girls in the class whom she knows from Kindergarten and one boy who was actually in her Kindergarten class with Mrs. Deiter.
Here she is with her new teacher...Mrs. Tamosaitis...who seems really great!! Scott and I attended the Back to School Night this evening and was able to hear a lot about what she will be doing in the classroom~It should be a terrific year!
As I was tucking Alexia into bed tonight...she said to me..."You know what Mommy...I was wrong about 1st grade. I'm not nervous about it anymore. It's going to be awesome!"
Yep...that's my girl!!
