Treasuring the "Everyday Moments"...

Today, and over the past several days, we have spent a lot of time as a nation remembering the tragic events of 9/11.  It has reminded me, once again, of just how precious life is and that we truly need to treasure the everyday moments that we have with our loved ones, because we simpy do not know how long we may have with them.

I have been so incredibly blessed by the people God has placed in my life...and I love sharing these "everyday moments" with them.

Here are some of those special moments from the past week...

First up...Daddy has trained his girls to appreciate a late night snack of chicken wings...

Yep, these girls were demolishing chicken wings at 9:40 pm one night!!
And, once they had a full belly...they were definitely ready for bed...

The next day, Megan and I decided to make some cupcakes...she was thrilled because she had been asking for me to buy her cupcakes at the store for the past 2 weeks.  So, when I suggested we make them (instead of buying them), she was READY!!

The best part of making cupcakes!!
On Friday, Scott was unexpectedly off work...so he had the chance to get Alexia off of the bus.  She didn't know that he would be the one there that day...and boy was she excited!!!

She loves her Daddy so much!!

On Friday afternoon, Alexia invited a friend over from our neighborhood whom she had met on the bus.  Her name is Gracen.  Alexia and Gracen are a lot alike in personality and they enjoyed their playdate and even allowed Megan to join in on some of their fun.  Here, Gracen is acting as a dance instructor and the girls are learning some ballet moves.

The girls were excited about another chance to play together and already have their next playdate on the calendar at Gracen's house for next Friday night.

Okay, so these next few pictures definitely need some explanation...and lest you become concerned that Scott will divorce me when he sees these on the blog, I did have his permission to post these :)
On Friday night, everyone in our house was a little on edge for some reason and we needed something to break us out of our funk!
So, what's a daddy to do in this situation?  Yep, your eyes are not deceiving you...Daddy let the girls dress him up with endless amounts of "girly stuff".  At the time that I came into the room from folding laundry...this is what I witnessed...

And, here is the girls' finished product..poor Scott...he was in some serious pain from those hair clips (he probably still has clip impressions on his ears!).
I don't know...I think Scott should be in the running for "Daddy of the Year" for this...I don't know many other guys (actually, I don't now ANY other guys) who would do this for their little girls!

Good thing for Scott, he had plans on Saturday to go to the Penn State game all day, so it was just the girls and I with a free day to do whatever we wanted.
So, we planned to hit some yard sales, stop by a community fun day at a local church and then go bowling.

Before we headed out, Alexia wanted to do some exercising and asked me to put on an exercise video for her.  I was quite impressed with her ability to learn the exercise moves and keep up with instructor (I could learn a thing or two from her).

And, here are a few pics of the girls at the bowling alley :)

So, by the end of the day yesterday...Alexia and Megan had spent a lot of time together and were starting to need a little space from each other.  So, Alexia had her 1st grade BFF, Payton, over after church for the afternoon and we sent Megan to the Biggs household to play with Morgan.

When we asked Megan which friend she wanted to play with today...she immediately said Morgan and began talking about Morgan's make-up...she couldn't wait to play with her make-up...and this is how she looked when I picked her up...LOL.

OH, HOW I LOVE MY FAMILY!!!!!!
